Upland
Meadows Farm is only 30 minutes from Northampton center and all it
has to offer.
Northampton
Restaurants - Way too many good ones to list them all here
- from Argentinian to Vietnamese
- from the "Hotel Northampton" to "Jake's No
Frills Dining" -
there's something for everyone and every budget.
Northampton
Live Music - The Calvin features big name acts in an old-style
theatre; you may want to purchase
tickets in advance depending on the season. The Ironhorse is
a smaller venue in a
more bar-style setting. The Pearl Street Nightclub is where
to go for dancing. We've also
caught some wonderful local talent at the Bishops Lounge, which
is the perfect place to
relax with a beer any night of the week.
Movie
Theatres - There are two art houses in the center of Northampton
each playing a steady stream of
award-winning films. The Academy of Music theatre is a must-see
with its Victorian
interior, and huge screen complete with red velvet curtains.
The Pleasant Street
Theatre has much smaller screens but has a choice of two theatres.
You can catch
mainstream films 10 minutes east of Northampton on Route 9
in the Hadley Theatre
with stadium style seating, gigantic screens, and surround
sound.
Shelburne
Falls Restaurants - Shelburne Falls is much smaller than
Northampton but has some very nice
places to eat. Our favorite is the "Bottle of Bread" an
elegant but casual restaurant
in a lovely old house overlooking the water. If you like
Pizza, try "Nicks Pizza" right at the end of the
bridge, our favorite is
the "mediterranean."
Shakespeare & Company - World
class performances of Shakespeare and other playwrites, childrens activities,
both indoor and outdoor theatres.
Lenox
Restaurants
Zoar Outdoors - Join New England’s leader in outdoor adventure offering rafting, kayaking and canoeing trips and instruction. Learn kayaking or rock climbing; rent a kayak.
